Do you Want a Just or Generous God? - 18 Sep 11

Today in the Gospel we hear
we hear that balance again of God being a "Just God" or God being a "Generous God." The question is, "When we come to God, do we want justice or do we want generosity? It depends. If we're talking about ourselves, we want a generous God. If we're talking about others, we want justice. God doesn't work that way. God can be generous and just at the same time. God extends his generosity to us in his justice and in that way lifts us up and allows us to become greater than we can be if we simply open ourselves up to Him.
